    Dharamshala-Triund Trek 

Cost : 19999 Rs

Detailed  6 day and 5 nights Itinerary ( 5th July - 9th July, 2025 )

Day 1:

  • Meet at ISBT Kashmiri gate, New Delhi and start the journey by boarding bus to Dharamshala at around 9 P.M.

Day 2: Arrival in Dharamshala & Local Exploration

  • Have breakfast and go for exploring the lower part of Dharamshala. 

  • Visit the Dharamshala Cricket Stadium - Dharamshala is also known for its HPCA Cricket Stadium, one of the most picturesque cricket grounds in the world, nestled against the backdrop of the Dhauladhar mountains. Even if there’s no match, the view from the stadium is worth a visit.

  • Visit the Norbulingka Institute, founded in 1995 by Kelsang and Kim Yeshi at Sidhpur, near Dharamshala, India, is dedicated to the preservation of the Tibetan culture in its literary and artistic forms.

  • Visit the famous KunalPathri Temple. The temple displays exquisite carvings of gods and goddesses. It is said that there is a stone in the temple that always remains wet. According to local legend, the moment it starts drying, it rains.

  • Visit the War Memorial. The Main Monument consists of three curved walls in black marble bearing the inscribed names of the those who laid down their lives in the service of the motherland on five of their faces and a mural on the sixth.

  • Visit the Aghanjar Mahadev Temple and the Scenic View Of Kharrota Valley.

  • Head to the Kangra Art Museum in Dharamshala, which showcases the region's rich cultural heritage, including Pahari paintings, sculpture, and artifacts.

  • Dinner at a Local Restaurant: . Try local Tibetan dishes like momos, thukpa, and tsampa (a roasted barley flour dish).

Day 3: Triund Trek

  • Begin your day early with a light breakfast at your hotel or a local café. For the trek, make sure you pack essential items: water, snacks, a hat, sunscreen, and a light jacket (it can get chilly on the trek).

  • Start the Triund Trek: The trek to Triund is relatively moderate and takes around 4-5 hours to ascend. The initial section is well-paved, but the path gets steeper as you approach the top. 

  • The trek is scenic, passing through oak and rhododendron forests with spectacular views of the Dhauladhar Range and the Kangra Valley. Along the way, you'll pass small tea stalls where you can take a break.

  • Once you reach the top of Triund, you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of snow-capped peaks on one side and the green valley on the other. There are small local dhabas at the top offering simple food like maggi noodles, pakoras, or parathas. Enjoy lunch while taking in the breathtaking views.

  • Relax & Explore the Triund Summit : Spend some time at the summit, taking in the scenic beauty of the mountains. You can walk around, find a quiet spot to meditate, or simply relax and enjoy the nature. On clear days, you can even see the Manimahesh Peak in the distance.

  • Overnight at camp on Triund top. Dinner will be provided at the campsite.


Day 4: Explore McLeod Ganj

  • Reach back from Triund top to Dharamshala at about 12 P.M. and have lunch.

  • Go for exploring the upper part of Dharamshala. It’s home to the Tibetan government-in-exile and the Dalai Lama.

  • Take a short hike to Bhagsunath Waterfall, which is located about 2 km from McLeod Ganj. The waterfall is set amidst a beautiful forest and provides a great spot to relax. There's also a small temple dedicated to Lord Shiva near the waterfall.

  • Visit the Namgyal Monastery(Dalai Lama Temple) : Head to the Namgyal Monastery, located near the Dalai Lama’s residence. It’s a peaceful place where you can witness monks in prayer and meditation. The monastery offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.

  • Stroll Through the Local Market : McLeod Ganj has vibrant Tibetan markets. Spend some time walking through the Bhagsu Road Market or the streets around the Dalai Lama Temple. You’ll find Tibetan handicrafts, prayer flags, woollen clothing, and jewelry.

  • Sunset at Dal Lake : Head to Dal Lake, which is about 2 km from McLeod Ganj. It’s a serene, tranquil spot with a small temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The lake and the surrounding pine forests offer a great sunset view.

  • Dinner at local restaurant.

 

Day 5 :

 

  • Free day till evening to explore locally or relax.

  • Leave for Delhi in the evening with lots of good memories and friends.

  • A small backpack for trekking

  • Power bank
